OPEN CALL

The Exhibition Committee of the Hungarian University of Fine Arts

makes an OPEN CALL
for the academic year 2016/17
for exhibitions organized in the Barcsay Hall

Submissions are accepted as one or more plans for exhibitions lasting approximately one and a half months in the Barcsay Hall of the Hungarian University of Fine Arts. Based on special needs the Aula space can be used too.

When submitting a plan, please consider that the exhibition profile of the Hungarian University of Fine Arts consists of exhibitions fitting to the educational mission of the university (exhibitions based on the university library’s collection, exhibitions of Hungarian and foreign master artists, projects realized together with foreign art universities, museums, institutions).
In the future, the open call will become annual. For the academic year 2016/17, there are two exhibition spots available in the autumn period and one spot available in the spring period.

When submitting a plan please add the following information:

  • Detailed exhibition concept (with reference to why it would be fitting to the exhibition profile of the Barcsay Hall)
  • Participating and/or exhibiting artists
  • Curators, other participants
  • Prefered date and time of exhibition
  • Approximate budget plan (insurance, transport, conservation, communication)
  • Planned events (guided tour, museum pedagogy, conference, screening, interdisciplinary events)
  • Project coordinator and Hungarian contact person (name, e-mail address, phone number)

The annual exhibition plan can change in accordance to the financial support covering the program.

Submissions have to be sent to the Exhibition Office of HUFA, at exhibitions@mke.hu by 30.01.2016. The office is happy to help with any questions regarding the submissions.

The incoming plans will be juried by the Exhibition Committee.
