Course description:
The central focus of the course is 20th century modern/postodern culture, its mythological, religious and philosophical background as well as its ideological, political and institutional contexts. The main objective of the lecture (in which various aspects of these topics are covered) is to explore the art of recent times in a more thorough manner than the usual history-of-styles-approach would afford. The core topic and the reading change each semester.
