Course description:
The aim of this course is to provide the student with comprehensive overview of historical changes that have occurred in the field of applied arts; how furniture, objects, manmade space and the environment have been altered throughout the ages. Special focus is placed on the changes of the everyday living environment. Students are familiarised with basic literature so that, after having become more knowledgeable and confident in handling relevant texts, they are able to solve problems arising from design assignments on their own. Materials and objects are obtained from museums and exhibitions.
